Windows - How to manually sync your device

Syncing forces your device to connect with the management system to get the latest updates, requirements, and communications from Calvert County Public Schools.  The Company Portal regularly syncs devices as long as you have an active internet connection.  However, if you ever need to disconnect for an extended period of time, you can manually sync to get any updates you missed when you return.

Syncing can also help resolve school-related downloads or other processes that are in progress or stalled. If you're experiencing slow or unusual behavior while installing or using a school application, try syncing your device to see if an update or requirement is missing.

Syncing may be performed using either the Company Portal or Windows Settings.  Both options are detailed below.

Option 1: Sync from Company Portal app for Windows

  1. From the Windows Start Menu, choose the button labeled Company Portal

    Windows 10 Start Menu

    Windows 11 Start Menu

  2. Select Settings > Sync.

    2. Expand the account shown and click Info

    3. Scroll down the page and click the Sync button

In conclusion, manually running a sync is a simple process that can be done through the Company Portal or Windows Settings.  By keeping your device in sync with the management service, you can ensure that you have access to the latest policies and profiles deployed by your Calvert County Public Schools.
