Microsoft Outlook (Classic) - Connect a SharePoint Calendar

You can connect a SharePoint calendar to Outlook Desktop (Classic) so that it appears alongside your other calendars for easier viewing and scheduling.

Important

This feature is supported only in Outlook Desktop (Classic). It is not supported in New Outlook or Outlook on the Web (OWA).


Connect a SharePoint Calendar

  1. Navigate to the SharePoint site that contains the calendar you want to connect.
  2. Open the SharePoint calendar.
  3. Select the Calendar tab in the ribbon.
  4. Select Connect to Outlook.

  1. When prompted, select Open.
  2. When Outlook Desktop (Classic) opens, select Yes to confirm that you want to connect the calendar.

Verify the Calendar

After the connection is complete, the SharePoint calendar will appear in the Outlook calendar list under Other Calendars.

You can now:

  • View the SharePoint calendar alongside your personal calendar.
  • Turn the calendar on or off using the checkbox.
  • Overlay multiple calendars for easier scheduling.

Troubleshooting

If Connect to Outlook is unavailable or the calendar does not open:

  • Verify you are using Outlook Desktop (Classic).
  • Confirm you have permission to access the SharePoint calendar.
  • Ensure Outlook Desktop (Classic) is installed and configured on your computer.

Summary

Connecting a SharePoint calendar to Outlook Desktop (Classic) allows you to view it alongside your other Outlook calendars. This feature is available only in the classic desktop version of Outlook and is not supported in New Outlook or Outlook on the Web (OWA).
