Purpose
Signing in and syncing your Microsoft Edge profile allows you to browse from any device, keep your favorites organized, and pick up where you left off.
Syncing also protects your favorites, saved passwords, and default tabs if your computer crashes, is reimaged, or you receive a new device.
While CCPS computers are configured to sync automatically, users may accidentally choose not to sync during the first launch. This guide shows how to confirm that syncing is enabled and how to turn it on if needed.
Before You Begin
Ensure you are signed in to your CCPS account
Confirm the computer is connected to the internet
Make sure Microsoft Edge is open
How to Enable Syncing
Step 1: First Launch Prompt
When Edge opens for the first time on a new or reimaged computer, you will see a prompt asking to enable sync.
Click Sync to establish the connection.
Step 2: Confirm Sync Status
Click your avatar in the upper right corner of Edge.
If you see Sync is on, you are properly signed in and do not need to continue.
Step 3: Turn On Sync if Needed
If your profile shows Not syncing:
Click Turn on sync
Follow any on screen prompts
Tip
Keeping sync enabled ensures your favorites and settings follow you to any CCPS computer you sign into.

Summary
Enabling profile sync in Microsoft Edge protects your browsing data and ensures a consistent experience across all CCPS devices. Confirming sync takes only a moment and can prevent lost favorites and settings later.
