Microsoft OneDrive - How to open and start syncing

Purpose

On all Calvert County Public Schools managed computers, Microsoft OneDrive is set to start and sign in automatically.

There may be times when OneDrive does not start correctly and needs to be launched manually. This guide explains how to open OneDrive and confirm that your files begin syncing.

Before You Begin

  • Ensure you are signed in to your CCPS account

  • Confirm the computer is connected to the internet

How to Launch OneDrive

Step 1: Open OneDrive

  1. Click the Windows Start button.

  2. Choose OneDrive from the list of applications.

Step 2: Automatic Sign In

OneDrive will automatically begin the sign in process using your CCPS credentials.

Step 3: Confirm Syncing

Once sign in is complete, OneDrive will begin syncing your files and will be available for use.

Tip

You can check OneDrive’s status at any time by clicking the cloud icon in the system tray. This will show whether files are syncing, paused, or fully up to date.

Need Help

If you have questions or continue to experience issues with OneDrive, please submit a ticket with the Help Desk team so they can provide assistance.

Summary

Manually launching OneDrive allows your files to reconnect and resume syncing when the app does not start automatically. Keeping OneDrive running ensures your files stay backed up and accessible across your CCPS devices.
