Passwords: How to change your Office 365 Staff Password

Important Notes:

  • The overwhelming majority of CCPS applications that staff use authenticate against Office 365. This allows staff to use the same password across the board AND it’s why the PowerSchool App Switcher allows you to seamlessly move from application to
  • Employee Access Center is an example, however, of an application that does not authenticate against Office 365 because our retirees use EAC --- and they do not have Office 365 accounts. Consequently, when you change your password in Office 365, your log in credentials for EAC are not impacted.
  • Passwords must be changed every 365 days or you may lose access to the applications you work in. If you are told that your credentials are not correct, this could be the reason. Once you change your password in Office 365 and change your password, you’ll regain access to the applications that authenticate against
  • If you receive your Calvertnet email on other devices such as cell phones or tablets, you will need to set the new password on those devices after you change it in Office 365. If you do not, it may lock your account. If your account is locked, you’ll be required to wait 20 minutes before attempting to log in
  • Please do not attempt to change your password within Unified Talent. To change your password for all the applications that authenticate against Office365, please follow the directions below.

Your new password must meet be at least eight characters AND contain characters from three of the following four categories:
    • Uppercase characters
    • Lowercase characters
    • Numbers (0 through 9)
    • Non-alphanumeric characters: ~!@#$%^&*_-+=`|\(){}[]:;"'<>,.?/

Additionally, the system will remember your last 24 passwords so you may not reuse any of them, and it will not allow you to use your first or last name in your password.

  5. If your new password does not meet the requirements above, you’ll see a message like this after clicking Submit:

  6. If your new password is accepted, you’ll be routed back to Office365 and should begin using that new password for ALL applications that authenticate against Office365 (e.g., your CCPS device, Schoology, TAC, eSchool, eFinance, etc.).

You may safely close the web page and your password change is complete.

  7. If you are using a CCPS device, please log out of the device and log back in with your new password.
