When using Microsoft OneNote for the first time on a new or reimaged computer, you will need to open each notebook that you want to have ready access to. Opening notebooks ahead of time starts the sync process and ensures they are available when you need them.
Whether this is the first-time opening OneNote or you received a new/reimaged computer, the guide below will help you quickly get set up.
- Click the Windows Start Menu, and choose OneNote
- OneNote will begin loading your profile.
- Once loaded, your default notebook will be automatically loaded.
If you would like to open additional notebooks (this is typical), click File and then Open.
- Choose the notebooks that you would like to open with OneNote. You may need to search for them but the most recent notebooks you accessed will be at the top.
