Microsoft Edge - Sync your profile

When you sign in to sync to Microsoft Edge, you can easily browse the web from any of your devices, keep your favorites organized, and always pick up right where you left off.  This process also protects you, the end-user, from losing your favorites/bookmarks, saved passwords and default tabs in the event your computer crashes, must be reimaged or you receive a new one.

While Calvert County Public Schools devices are set up to sync a user's profile automatically, users may accidentally chose not to sync and don't realize the benefit they are missing.  The guide below walks you through how to ensure that you are syncing properly so you can benefit from Syncing your Favorites/Bookmarks Between Devices.

  1. When Edge is open for the first time on a new or reimaged computer, you will be prompted with the box below.  Clicking Sync establishes the connection you need.

  2. That's it!  You may confirm that you are properly signed in and syncing by clicking the avatar in the upper right corner.  If you see Sync is on, you're good to go and do not need to proceed through the remainder of this guide.

  3. If you accidentally choose to not sync, you will notice the box in Step 2 says Not Syncing

  4. To enable syncing, yep, you guessed it, click Turn on sync

  5. Once clicked, your profile will be synced properly in Microsoft Edge
